I was born in Corner Brook, which is a small city on the west coast of Newfoundland. I am married to Arlene and have two adult children and three grandchildren. I started a career in Education by teaching high school and eventually became a Vice Principal, Principal and Assistant Superintendent. Throughout my teaching career I was very much involved in the community in a variety of ways. I coached high school basketball, volleyball and soccer for 20 or more years. I served as a volunteer and trustee to the Public Health Board for 7 years. I was elected to the Municipal Council of Corner Brook for a four year term serving as Councilor and Deputy Mayor. I was involved with our church as a volunteer for 15 years.
I moved to Grande Prairie in 2005 to take up a position as Principal of Holy Cross School which is a K to 8 school. I continued my volunteer work by coaching junior high basketball for these years. In 2007 I moved into the position of Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources with the Grande Prairie Catholic School Board. I retired from this position in January of 2014 and decided to return to real estate which was a career I pursued briefly many years ago while on leave from my career in Education. I believe the key to success in real estate, as in education, is taking care of people. It has been a way of life for me and one I will continue while serving the Grande Prairie area as a real estate agent. Please don't hesitate to call me for any of your real estate needs. You will not be disappointed. Call (780)882-3019.

Before becoming a resident of Grande Prairie, I have lived in 3 different continents, traveled the Seven Seas, and visited the seven Cities of Love (1). A native of Tehran Persia, I lived in Ottawa for 21 years where I owned a rug gallery in the Byward Market. No need to panic, I was not like the proverbial rug seller you have heard about. I consider myself a very lucky person as my love for color, art, interior design, and architecture directly affected my job. This also influenced my decision to become a REALTOR® (my other interests such as spy novels and certain HBO shows were not realistic options for a career). I was also very fortunate that my previous job put me in contact with a wide range of clients from across Canada and beyond. From the buyer of the smallest rug to the most expensive one, every client got high quality attention and time. This was by far what I consider the most fulfilling and rewarding part of my job. As a REALTOR®, I am looking forward to having the same experience. Whether you are a neighbor, a colleague of my son (I am a proud oilfield mom), a health care professional, public servant, business owner, farmer, teacher, retired or a celebrity (I once sold a rug to Ian Tyson), you’ll find in me someone who is ready to listen, and who will never give scripted pitches.
Like many of you, my mom was my first mentor on how to do a business transaction. Every New Year, she would take me and my brother to the same shoe shop in downtown Tehran, where she and the owner would negotiate as we anxiously waited to see whether they would reach a deal. Sometimes, she would just walk out to give the owner, who knew her by name, time to think about her offer, but, by the end of it all, we always left with 2 new pairs of shoes. This method of negotiation displayed by my mother and the shoe shop owner has been my guide not only throughout the years I had my gallery, but in life as well. The process was to reach a deal that was acceptable and fair to both parties from which they would move on happy and satisfied. This is my goal.
Selling or buying a home is a huge life experience. All the tools we have within our grasp, physical or virtual, have also made it also a very exciting adventure. We all love watching home shows on television. We browse on real estate listing sites even if we are not planning to buy or sell. Ask any REALTOR® and they will tell you most of their clients are quite well informed on the houses that are listed for sale in their desired areas. I believe our job as real estate professionals is not to replace these new advances or compete with them, but to dynamically integrate them into our craft. Being a REALTOR® today is not what it used to be 10 or 20 years ago. REALTORS® are more reachable than ever; thanks to social media and personal and rating websites, you know about us well in advance of actually meeting us, and, as I've come to know, the training we undergo is more advanced than ever.
But, at the end of the day, these tools are just that: instruments that help us better serve our clients’ needs. Buying or selling a home is a journey, you are the driver, and facilitating the process gives us, the REALTORS®, the privilege of becoming fellow passengers. As I learned in my previous career in Ottawa, the rewards go far beyond financial compensation. Many of my clients became my lifelong friends. Nothing is more fulfilling than walking into a supermarket, a park, or a restaurant and be approached by someone who was a happy client (the world is a small place. I once bumped on a client of mine while waiting at an airport in the US). I hope to do the same in Grande Prairie.

Angie has worked in the community as a teacher, owning a clothing design company, in Injury Prevention Programs and as Executive Director of Grande Prairie Lifelong Learning. As owner of a number of residential rental properties, Angie made the decision to build a very successful Property Management Business at Royal LePage before becoming the Broker/Owner at Royal LePage The Realty Group with her husband of six years, John Krol. Jeff Warkentin was born and raised on a Peace Region farm east of Grande Prairie. It was there that he learned the value of a day’s work and about helping others. After completing high school Warkentin worked for a small home builder before taking time away from the workforce to complete an Associate of Christian Studies Diploma at Peace River Bible Institute in Sexsmith, Alberta. Following, Jeff earned his license to trade in Real Estate in late 2006 while employed at Devco Developments Corp. During his 8 years with Devco, Warkentin’s job was multi-faceted including work in property management, commercial construction management, residential land development, commercial leasing and residential property sales.
In 2014 Warkentin decided to focus his efforts solely in the Real Estate, using what he had learned in development, construction and property management to help others achieve their goals and dreams through real estate investment. Since joining Royal LePage-The Realty Group in March 2014 Jeff has received the Directors Platinum Sales Award for annual sales volume and Rookie of the Year for the highest volume of sales among agents new to the office.
Jeff and his wife Carlene have 4 beautiful children, Madilyn, Adele, Kale and Rhett. They are proud to call the Peace Country home and are grateful for the wealth of opportunities afforded by living in such a place. They continue to be involved and give back to their local community through leading a local youth group. In his free time, Warkentin enjoys rolling up his sleeves to work on family and friend’s construction/renovation projects or get out to the farm to help combine or go for a Sunday afternoon quad ride. As a family, Jeff and Carlene enjoy swimming at the Eastlink center or closest river (in the summer), camping and winter getaways.
